Examples are the Allis WD, WC, WF, B, C, CA, and IB use 1-2-4-3, the Farmall Cub, Allis G and MH Pony use 1-3-4-2. If no manual is available for your tractor, you can determine this by watching the order in which the intake valves open (rocker arm will go down when the valve opens). The WD45 was the first Allis-Chalmers tractor available with power steering. The diesel engine became available after Allis-Chalmers acquired Buda, and put the 6BD-230 engine in the tractor. The WD45 is considered by many to be one of the most important tractors built by Allis-Chalmers. At the time, it was the most powerful tractor for its size.

wd ignition timing?
| Ken | Does a 49 WD have anysort of timing advance? Centrifugal in distributor or etc. ? Thanks for any help. Ken |
| CTuckerNWIL | WD's originally had a magneto. If it has a distributor, it should have some kind of advance to it. |
| Ken | Thanks for the reply, I'll search further. This tractor will slow idle fine, but anything more it is rough. Not a solid misfire, or cutting out, it is just rough, almost as if you were pouring the fuel out of bucket into it. Any help greatly appreciated, I have this tractor finished paint and etc. just need it to sound as it should. Thanks Ken |
